“Prinsesa” – Children’s Book
We are now proud to announce the availability of our children’s storybook, “PRINSESA: THE BOY WHO DREAMED OF BEING A PRINCESS.” Available for ordering now, via Amazon.com.
The 30-page book is based on the same story as our film: A young Filipino-American father tells the story of the Singkil dance to his children, but is perplexed when his son daydreams of becoming the princess in the tale.
We are hoping to use both the book and the film to help spread the anti-bullying and gender-identity awareness message that we all believe in. Once again, the team is comprised entirely of volunteers. Proceeds from the book have gone to charities (Typhoon Yolanda relief, Bantay Bata ChildWatch, and a Transgender Children’s Summer Camp) as well as to help in distribution of the film to festivals around the world.
The story is by Drew Stephens (Director and co-writer of our film) and written by Emmanuel Romero (Co-writer of the Prinsesa film, and the writer behind our last film (“Viewer Discretion Advised”). Illustrations are by the amazingly-talented Marconi Calindas (illustrator for the film, and the artist behind many social awareness projects; www.marconicalindas.com)
When you order this book, not only will you be spreading the word about acceptance, but you will be helping various LGBT charities, and/or helping to fund the distribution of the “Prinsesa” short film. So THANK YOU for your support!
